9th International Vacuum Insulation Symposium
17th - 18th September 2009, in London
The 9th International Vacuum Insulation Symposium continued a series of conferences initiated by the former Vacuum Insulation Association (VIA). The previous conference was held in Würzburg, Germany in 2007.
The International Vacuum Insulation Symposium (IVIS 2009) was held at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in London on 17th-18th September. The symposium was jointly organized by the Oxford Brookes University, Cambridge University and the Brick Development Association.
The use of vacuum insulation has been established in the refrigeration and
logistics sectors, with packaging, vehicles, and appliances. The construction
sector is also emerging as a major market where the ability to achieve very
low U values at minimum thicknesses is increasingly acknowledged as a valuable
attribute.
